Fractured Thoughts

I have been writing lots of drabbles in different fandoms and crossovers, all exactly 100 words. Most of them are gen, but there are a couple of het and slash pairings in the last few. I had fun writing them, so I hope you will enjoy reading them:

 

Highlander :-

Kronos is nearly 400 the first time he sees snow. White flakes fall as if the clouds themselves were breaking apart and dropping to the dirt.  He wonders if they have angered a God and the sky is going to bury them in punishment. Methos leans across his horse and calls it ‘snow’. Kronos nods relieved the world will not end today, Methos would know, even now he is sure he will never equal the knowledge of the older immortal. Kronos swings his blade slashing apart a laughing local captive reminding them that even when the sky falls he rules.

A strike of his blade, was followed by a rush of lightening searing every nerve ending. For a minute a host of voices clamoured for control drowning the 200 year old quickening. His sanity teetered on a knife edge as Adam Pierson was shredded under the weight of Benjamin Adams, Matthias Adamson, Death and a thousand others stirred into life by the liquid fire of the quickening. The steady pulse that was Methos swept them all aside. Past personas were buried and for a moment he was Methos whilst he painstakingly pieced Adam Pierson together and allowed him control again.

 Highlander/Buffy

“People don’t usually come to bars to get stone tablets translated,” Adam Pierson grinned at the blonde student tipping his bottle to take another drink, “So what makes you think I can help you?”

She crossed her arms “Someone told me you’re good with old things, obviously not so much.”

He smiled at the manipulation offered her a folded piece of paper “You can have your translation if you give me the original.” He called out as she left with her translation   “Hey Slayer, tell Ripper he still owes me.”

Methos smirked, pleased at the return of his old recipe.

Magnificent 7/ Highlander:-

Josiah Sanchez was dead and buried, shot during a bank robbery. The funeral had been attended by the entire population of four corners. When he had sat up halfway through the ceremony it was difficult to tell who was more surprised, the mourners or the newly immortal Josiah. His six friends weren’t sure whether to celebrate or shoot the undead creature, eventually they decided it was a medical marvel. Nathan sometimes muttered about disappearing scars and Chris watched him out of the corner of his eye, but life continued as normal. Then Melvin Koren came through town and everything changed.

 Magnificent 7/ Dr Who

“So Buck, what do you think it is?” JD asked excitedly gesturing at the blue box “It made this strange noise, one minute there was nothing here, then here’s this box.”

Buck looked at it head tilted on one side and tried to think what it might be “Whoa slow down boy. It says Police Box on it, so I reckon that’s what it is.”

They stepped back hands on their guns as the box opened and a man stepped out followed by a strangely dressed coloured girl. He grinned widely holding out his hand “Oh, Hello. I’m the doctor.”

Charmed:-

 

The day Wyatt Halliwell was born magic stopped, he was born in bright lights fulfilling a centuries old prophecy. The day his younger brother Chris was born the balance between Good and Evil had been disrupted. An elder went insane and tried to kill Wyatt and a 23 year old version of himself from a future where Wyatt was evil had bled to death in his Father’s arms. On the whole Chris thought it was remarkable they had grown up as normal as they did, even if Wyatt was annoyingly perky and optimistic and Chris was a little tightly wound.

Gundam Wing:-

 

When he thought about it at all Chang Wufei was proud to be the most straight forward and uncomplicated of the gundam pilots. Doubts, regrets and conflicting priorities make one weak and Wufei hates weakness. Wufei is a warrior and warriors don’t need complications. To Wufei there are three types of people: Those he fights with, those he fights against and those who are weak and should stay out of his way. In Wufei’s mind there are only four people that he fights with (whatever Sally Po may think) and even they are barely tolerated. Warriors don’t need friends either.

If the correct pressure was applied, a threat to destroy a colony or the nagging of a certain medic, Wufei might admit that he admires Heero Yuy and secretly (he hopes) aspired to be more like him almost from the first time they met.  Heero is single minded and determined, with both the will and the strength to take on any enemy without flinching, and without submitting to the horrible confusion and madness at the end of the first war. The most amazing part though is that Heero does what he must but also lives true to his own emotions.

Heero has never said ‘I love you’, not once in the last fifteen years and Duo doesn’t think he will say it in the next fifteen, or the fifteen after that. He tells Duo every day though, when he rolls his eyes and picks up Duo’s laundry or when he moves dirty car parts out of the way. When he goes with Duo to movies he hates and when he stands in the corner of a club Duo wanted to visit and glares. Heero tells Duo he loves him everytime he checks his flak jacket or weapons one extra time.

Prince of Tennis:-

 

Contrary to popular opinion Oishi was not Eiji’s first date that had been his first year with a girl in his class whose name he could now no longer remember. Oishi’s first date had been before they had even really been friends, with his class rep. Oishi wasn’t his first boyfriend either, there had been that brief (and slightly strange) flirtation with Fuji in the middle of their second year. It had been mostly a joke between them but it still counted (sort of). Oishi was his first kiss, though he wasn’t Oishi’s, but he hoped to be his last.
