Just moved house so am (for now) still living out of boxes. Chaos reigns and I can't find anything, have been off work all this week, first day back to day, and I'm still circumnavigating boxes to move anywhere. I think I have managed to destroy both my back and my knees though and my shoulders have been complaining all day, and I was so careful to make sure I bent at the knees when lifting boxes. I spent most of yesterday trying to order my books to keep series together, am starting to think I have too many, if such a thing is possible, as I have filled all the bookcases in the house and have only opened about half the boxes. Oh well it will all work out in the end I suppose. If I were not so attached I might sell some but I have found I get seperation anxiety at the idea of losing any of my books. All is right with the world though as my internet connection has now been set up (though it is still a little spotty as they have 10 days to stabilise the connection or something).

Most of the times that I've been able to get rid of books are moves. It's the effort of packing them all. I tend to find myself pitching incredible amounts of stuff just to avoid having to pack them and take them.

I'm the same with most things, the amount of clothes I sent to the charity shops could keep a small country warm, but I am very possessive about my books and my DVDs I can never bear to part with them.

I'm just looking forward to enjoying my nice new house, which doesn't have mice. (The last house had mice, lots and lots of mice it was really unpleasant). I'm still doing the change house every year thing so packing up and moving is pratically an art now but it still annoys me, I'm too old for this student style living.

yikes moving! I get really tired of packing pretty quickly whenever I move, so I feel your pain! I do like to get rid of things when I'm moving (feels so freeing, doesn't it?) but I'm the same about books completely! I have shelves and shelves of books that I think I will have everywhere I go :|

but i hope the move in general is happy and that you're liking your new place!! XD

The new place is great, moving from a 4 person house share to a 2 person house share which just generally means more control over the shared space, and this house doesn't come equipped with little furry squatters. My old house was practically infested with mice and they just got everywhere and into everything, yuck, yay no more mice.
