Fractured Thoughts

Cesar watched the blond haired human walk towards him curiously. He had never seen this human before but it didn’t look lost, it moved confidently and stopped waiting in front of Cesar’s cage. Cesar stared through the bars at it’s blue eyes and soft face the human looked small and weak even compared to other humans, but Cesar could see the confidence and watchfulness, and could smell its mate, the brown haired human that fed Cesar. Like calls to like, so Cesar knew that the blond haired human was a predator like him. It stared deeply into Cesar’s eyes watching him, observing the play of giant muscles and the steady gaze.

The human that fed Cesar, walked up to join the other human, “Quatre, have you been waiting long?”

The blond haired human smiled broadly showing all its teeth, a show of dominance, Cesar wondered if the humans were going to fight each other now “Trowa, I’ve been looking at the lions. I don’t think I recognise this one, is he new? What’s his name?”

“That’s Cesar, he arrived last week, another circus was closing down so they transferred him here.”

Cesar watched the blond haired human as it turned back to look at him through the cage “He’s beautiful. It seems a shame to keep them locked up”

The brown haired human shook his head slowly “I know but they were raised in the circus they wouldn’t know how to survive in the wild.”

The two humans were interrupted by a third much larger human calling out “Sorry Master Quatre, Master Trowa but the show starts in half an hour you’ll miss the start.”

“We’re coming Rashid.” The blond haired human called out before slipping its arm through the other human’s arm. Cesar yawned as he sat down watching the humans leave.
