After months of essentially no exercise I decided to start running again. I've restarted the C25K from the beginning (BTW I wholeheartedly recommend this for anyone who fancies starting running, even if you are like me horribly unfit I did it earlier in the year and it was brilliant). I feel great though the hills are killing me, last time I ran almost entirely on the flat but this time (partly because I've since moved house) I've decided to include the hills in my run.

I'd almost forgotten how much better exercise makes me feel about everything.... it's even making me write again, I've been further exploring the Trowa and Quatre angst in the next chapter of reality and politics. Anyway after two month's of my weight inching back up (Yikes) I'm back on my way down to a healthy weight.

In completely unrelated things I have pre-ordered the new Kindle, and am now prevaricating about whether to leave the order, change it to the (slightly cheaper) one without 3G or cancel it. The thing is until I have it for awhile I won't actually know how much I'll end up using it, or whether the 3G will actually be something I use. Plus it's not absolutely 100% certain yet my current job will last past the end of the next month. My boss says yes, but she's a little cagey on the details and I have nothing in writing so.... I worry.  (I should find a 'proper' job anyway I'm earning #8-10,000 less in this job than I would if I was employed in my field, but this job sure as beats unemployment).

I went running in the snow this morning :0). I was somewhat surprised to see it had snowed overnight and debated for awhile whether or not running it was a good idea or not. However the idea of running on new crunchy snow seemed much more appealing than doing itt tomorrow on slushy icy paths when I would probably slide over and break something. So I added a few extra layers to my normal running gear and ventured out, and running in the snow was actually really fun (and the snow was nicely cushioning for the feet too). Wow was I tired by the end though, something aboout the snow had me running faster than usual and I kept having to remind myself to slow down or I wouldn't be able to finish. Moving onto tougher runs for this next week which is probably going to do me in, but hopefully in a good way :0).

Anyway [livejournal.com profile] snakewhissperer's post about to do lists and writing earlier had me thinking about my own growing pile of unfinished fics that I really must work on instead of occasionally think about and never write. My to do list stands as:
  •  Three GW wips: Zero X' my GW/Xmen crossover that I haven't posted in about a year, 'Learning to communicate' which in my defense I posted a short chapter for.... a month and a half ago and 'Politics  and reality' my 3x4 "one-shot" that somehow kept growing and I still have plot bunnies for.
  • one half finished highlander fic that I have been working on for half a year and really love but just can't see an end to... ever.
  • a hl/mag7 crossover that popped into my head one day and won't leave.
  • a mag 7 ficlet plotbunny that would probably only take me an evening to write if I just did it.
I also have a novel length HL fic I've been plotting out for months but haven't really actually done anything about, and a mammoth HL/doctor who crossover I want to do but hasn't got past the plotbunny stage.

Not to mention the ten novels length original fic that has been on the backburner for.... years but keeps popping up and shouting 'pick me, pick me.'

Really, really must start writing again.... Think I shall dust off my write or die link and try to get some words flowing onto a page.
